FOURTEENTH ANNUAL IRIS WORKSHOP

Wednesday, June 12 - Saturday, June 15, 2002

WAIKOLOA BEACH, HAWAII

Registration and travel information are now available for the Fourteenth Annual IRIS Workshop.

An icebreaker will kick off the activities on Wednesday evening.  Plenary scientific session, thematic poster sessions, program forums, and working groups will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  An optional field trip to the lava fields has been scheduled for Sunday.

The plenary scientific sessions are being organized on three major themes:
1) Hawaii, 2) Ring of Fire, and 3) EarthScope Analogs.  Program forums will discuss new developments and future directions for PASSCAL, the Global Seismographic Network, the Data Management System, and the Education and Outreach Program.  A series of small workshops will focus on identifying the future products of EarthScope in its capacity as a mega-array, for education and outreach, and for addressing scientific questions along the Western plate boundary, Basin and Range, Rocky Mountains, and the continental craton.

All participants are encouraged to bring posters.  Poster displays will be grouped around the topics of the scientific sessions and the EarthScope working groups, but posters on any IRIS-related subject are welcome.  Each participant will be assigned to the EarthScope working group session of their choice.  All interested parties are welcome to attend, subject to the availability of accommodations.

To be held at :
